=) | Do you have to be old/retired to move into a retirement community? |
|
|

Ross
|
Yes a cetian age. The ones the accept people with special needs, of any age, are also long term care facilities. The ones that offer long term will have some sort of staff that can assist those who need it, regaurdless of age. Long term care facilities are usually confused with senior living, but not the same. In many cases senior communities do have long term care because as you get older you may need it. But you can have senior communities that are age restricted. My parents live in a senior community that only alows seniors, no long term care. Their comunity is no different than any other PUD, except the age restrictions. |

Most retirement communities have age limits, no kids, limits on visitors, etc. |

You at least have to be 55 years old or your spouse needs to be. |

YOU NEED TO BE A SENIOR CITIZEN,USUALLY THERE'S A WAITING LIST TO GET IN. |

The answer is no. Many retirement communities accept people who are younger than the community's age requirement if they are disabled. This varies from community to community, but is generally accepted.
Hope this helps!

old is a state of mind. but most "retirement communities" will state a minimum age in their covenants. most of them in my area require at least age 55 and some do not allow children, ie grandchildren to live with you. |
|

Trillian
 |
Most have minimum age limits. Whether you are retired, or an "active adult" or still working is another thing.
It's hard to define retired depending on whether you are working full time, part time and whether you are paid or not, or whether you are still looking for a job. |
