Get a place of your own or you'll have your in-law's (mother in law in particular) thinking they can dictate your life. I was stupid and let my momma's boy of a husband talk me into staying with his parents till we "go on our feet". When we did get our own place it was a floor above them. It was awful. She felt she could butt into all our arguments, tell us how to raise our son, and even criticized the way I did my husband's laundry. We now live three hours away from them and I couldn't be happier. You need out now or she'll run your life. If he thinks it's ok to live there, and so does she, she's still trying to keep her claws. Time to cut the apron string and get a place of your own with him. |

A common dilemma in this time of ours. Housing is SO expensive nowadays, you can't blame the guy if he's just wantin' to save some dough. However, if the issue is his attachment to his parents and the comfort he gets from living with mom and dad, then, it's a different story. In that case he may just not be at your level of maturity. The fact of the matter is that if your gonna get married and want your marriage to be a healthy one, the two of you have to be at the same point in your lives. If you guys can't see eye to eye on a crucial matter such as this, then you should probably move on girl.
Best of luck. |

I think both of you should start living on your own. Life is too short. You have lived enough time with your parents. Get on with life. Enjoy the freedom and challenges of being on your own. Get a job and don't ignore relationships at the same time. Parents and other relations are important. But being on your own comes first in life. Good luck to both of you. |

I think it depends on your level of maturity and ability to handle finances indepentedly. I don't think it's as much a matter of age.
I don't know if you or your financee have lived on your own before...if not, it's important to consider all that goes into living on your own (cost of rent, groceries, bills - electric, gas, phone, internet, water, etc). If you feel that you are able to handle all those costs independently, it is probably a good indication that you are okay living on your own. |

I guess that’s ok... but not after the wedding. Although, I think you should move together so that you could experience what is it like. Or perhaps you could move to your fiance’s home.
As for the aspect of age, it’s ok. I’m 24 and still live with my mom. |

there's nothing wrong with your living at home a while longer.some day your parents may be living in your home so don't feel bad about about staying till you get on your feet. |

um...21 is still ok.. wow.. u guys are young..
personally i think... there's a limit.. like if ur almost 30 and over..that's abit too old to live at home. 21 is alright. maybe he wants to safe a bit more money! |

Find your own place. that way you learn to manage on your own, how to distribute your money, his or your parents won't interfere that much in your life. BTW, last but not least you can have sex anywhere you like it. |

If your parents aren't going to kick you out, you might as well enjoy the free rent and save up for when you do move out... You want to be prepared, have some money in the bank. If you are planning on buying a house definately stay with your parents and save save save... It is more important to be able to support yourself when you move out or you will be back with you parents anyway... |

I think it depends on how financially stable you are. I want my kids to live with me until they can actually BUY a house, not rent. I don't want them to have the struggles I had to go through. But if they are 30 and still at home, I think that might be another story. If you are only 21, that is not too old to stay at home a couple more years and get financially ready. |
