I met somebody yesterday regardinng renting an apartment. The place was great and bigger than most. I found the number on craigslist, but at least she gave a number and did NOT give any weird stories and let us in the place. HOWEVER, she told us we could pay as soon as possible, but did said we do not get to move in until next month cause even though the landlord left, she was still payed up and could come back legally. But she says if we wait to pay somebody else might get the place. So we asked her if we would get the keys and she said now she doesn't have an extra key, but she would make one up for us, but if we wait for that, we could miss out. So my fiance asked if he could see her licence, cause my Dad said to do that, for verification of who she is in case she give us the check signed, so we know if there are fraudulant charges. But she said she will, but we had to wait first until we payed and after she would show us the license. So we asked a couple of more questions, and she is all, "you keep talking about stuff but nobody is making any decisions here." So we were like we will come tomorrow if somebody is there, but she is like my husband will be there, so we were like are there other days we could come? (I met her first and would really prefer to make the transaction with her first and who knows if the husband will be there). So I am asking my fiance, would another day like Saturday be good instead? and I asked her that too. But she is like I don't care when you come, but if you want to place you have to pay. I mean she is a mom with kids and I have seen her kids there, so it looks like she really does live there, maybe hse is just in a hurry to rent the place? What do you think?
TO sum it up She would give a receipt, but she wants the money prior to us moving it, but she will give us keys and we could bring our stuff in. She will show us id, but only after we write the check. She seems nice and all but still I was not sure.
