No, unless equipment needs to be installed onto the building. Your landlord or owner of the property has the last say. (A company like DISHTV, installation can damage the house.) |

No way! Is not his business once you pay for the house or for the room, you can have your own phone line if you only rent a room and choose your own internet dealer. This guy needs some help mate, he wants money of the rent and he still want to run the howse the way he like it with you in it. |

If it comes in over a wire and you live in an apartment, the landlord certainly does have that right, at least with cable TV. They frequently sign exclusive agreements with cable TV providers to do just that. They are, however, now required by federal law to allow you to use direct broadcast satellite like DirecTV or DishNetwork, if you choose. |
