Does putting a screen door on a property increase the property value if there isnt one already there?

where is everybody?

no too minor

Rex
I would not think so. It is just an inexpensive accessory.

The MLS does not even have an entry space for a screen door, I do not think it is something that is considered worth thinking about in real estate.

anonimitie
No. It decreases the value if the property is a submarine, though.

acermill
No. Such an addition is a very minor change, costing only a few hundred dollars, at best. No one is going to pay you more for a house because it has a screen door.

Not really. They are not that expensive and does nothing to increase your property value.

Over the lifetime of the home, It doesn't add any value. However, it may swing potential buyers/renters to consider the property.

estielmo
Yes, it raises the value about $1.50. But it does look nicer and keeps out the flies.

Spock (rhp)
admit we'd like one on the house we rent here.

would be very nice for evening breezes.

If the door it covers is a decorative door, then the obstruction by the screen door might lower the value.

Not really. Things that increase property are nice landscaping, curb appeal, updated kitchen and bathrooms.

No. The cost of installing a screen door is so negligible that it is of little consequence to a property's value.

Doctor Deth
yeah, a whole $50 maybe

Hey U, Yeah U..Get over here
Yes, any improvement you do to a property will increase it's markety value. Ummm...don't expect much of a value though...its only a screen door...it's not like you added an extra room or remodeled the kitchen and bathrooms or landscaped the yards. It's a screen door...if you paid $100 for that screen door expect that property value to increase by $100 but you have to add in depreciation of that screen door for every month and year that goes by. So basically if it's a 1 yr old consider the depreciation to be...and i'm probably being generious on this...to be 1/2 so $50.
