Does this make sense?
How can you be a landlord when you can't even fix what's broken in your own house? How can you justify spending lots of cash on business ventures when your kitchen light's been out of order for 2 years, or the stormdoor handle is broken??

That's what a lot of landlords do.. They are in it just for the money, and don't care about keeping there property, in good condition. They just get there rent money, and then do not fix anything..I owned some property, for about ten years, and anytime, anything went wrong with my tenants, I would call someone immediately, and have it fixed. I kept the property up, and when I sold it, I did make a little profit. I kept the property in real good shape, because I cared about my tenants. Of course I was in it for the money, but when you get good people who rent from you, I would try to keep them. It's not easy to get good people to rent, and when you do, you take care of them. I hope you get the things fixed, that you want, fixed..Good Luck..

they need to be hit in the head with a baseball bat. :O

Why should they fix anything when there isn't anything the vast majority of tenants can or will do to force them to fix it?

The law is not for the poor or the masses. If you can't afford justice in this country then you are just sh___ out of luck.

i don't think when investors buy apartment buildings, they know how to fix cabinet fixtures. You get someone to do it for you.

It sure doesn't make sense. Looks like this person is out looking for fun but does not have a very good peripheral vision.

some ppl r good at biz but lousy at personal stuff. hence the expression " the shoemaker's kids always go barefoot"

U arent a landlord if u cant fix the house. Its just a small lightbulb. And that person should get the hadle fixed. Mabe that person doesn't have enough time to fix the hadle or change a small lightbulb. And if he didn't have enough time then he would need the lightbulb that much beacuz he wouldn't be in the kitchen that often. In a way it does make sense but also at the same time it doesn't.

No, your question doesn't make sense. One has nothing to do with the other. There is no requirement that your own house must be in good repair to be a landlord. Nor that you have to know how to fix a house you plan to rent. (If your kitchen light doesn't work, hire someone to fix it.)

well my mom is a landlord but she knows how to fix stuff like that but if its something that either its just too hard for her to fix or maybe she tried and broke it more she will pay for someone to come and fix it. so ask ur landlord to come fix the problem and have them pay for a person to fix something.
but honestly that doesn't make a bit of sence.
