Initialy I and my Husband wanted to sell the house on getting to Maryland on a second thought we decided to rent it out since we will be returning back to the house in the next 5 years I will like you to go take a look at the exterior part of the house because you will not be able to go inside to see the interior hence I have all the keys here with me. My house is a 3 bed rooms, 2 bath. Very well furnished, the living room also has a fire place, and a mounted plasma screen television. The bedrooms are well furnished with a cheery wood night stand and a chest with a dressing table, a foot board and a head board. the mattress on it is a serta pillow top mattress, this is the same in all rooms except the master bedroom which had a walking closet and mini Jacuzzi tub,2 vanity double sink, and a sleep number bed. This room also has a 37 inch plasma television. The kitchen has a stainless steel electric cooker and a self cleaning oven, a built in microwave and a double door whirlpool refrigerator. The house also has a central cooling and heating systems, with ceiling fans in all rooms. Plates, cutlery, and sheets are all provided. Extra blanket and sheets are in the extra closet located by the bathroom. The cable, light and internet bills are all included in the rent. Do get back to me if you are truly interested and sure of taking proper care of my house there is a rent application form which I will like you to fill and Send back to me. If you can do all this for me, then I will be willing to rent my house to you.

I just googled the address and it a Model home that is all setup in a new sub-division call Liberty Crossing. This woman does on own the home and never has as it still for sale by the builder. I took the virtual tour and it really a nice home but it not for rent its for sale. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!

You know it's a scam simply due to the fact that this "person" is giving you so much information up front, then wants you to send all your personal contact information (disguised as a rental application) so they can steal your identity.

If this was a real person with a real home, they would have a neighbor or Realtor to show you the property if they are not in town to do so themselves. Believe me, no one owning a home would just let you move in without someone they trust talking with you in person.

I have used craig's list to advertise homes for sale, and have gotten this type of a response as well. Don't trust anyone, unless you can shake their hand.

It is a Nigerian scammer.

Observe the scam tactic, he or she want you to send the stuff through UPS or other shipping service instead of face to face.

Question: if money doesn't matter, then why is she renting it.

It sounds like she wants a house sitter. And from experience, I would NEVER!!!!!!!!!! let anyone I didn't know live in my house with my personal belongs in there.

OH and MD are only a "short" drive. I would have wanted to meet with the people before I rented the house.

If you want to find out if this is real, find out if the ad poster is the actual owner. Talk with neighbors and find out about the house. I'm sure the next door neighbor has a phone number for these people. Call them.

This ad gives TOO MUCH information and english is NOT the first lang of this poster.

Whether it is a scam or not is irrelevant. Don't make an offer with someone who cannot meet with you physically. It sounds like he/she wants you to give all your information, and then will "mail" you the keys. I think the person is phishing for information, and is using some unknown person's residence for the scam.

If they can't meet with you, then there's a chance they don't live there. Maybe it's the home owner's ex, and he/she wants to sell the spare key to you. You never know. If you do want to take a risk, maybe mail the application to the residence in question...the person should have set up mail forwarding with the post office.

yep it is a scam. The same thing happened to me and it was a scam. The email I got was exactly like the one you got.

Pretty convincing, BUT sure sounds CHEAP with electric, cable, and Internet paid, AND furnished.

An inspection would be in order, but I would want to see all that is stated, and the rental terms.

Rental terms would be tough if I offered that deal. I hope they are not so naivete to trust just anyone with their belongings.

Jaysus, someone could clean out the house and be gone.

No clear evidence of false ad.
It is a bit odd to see no mention of requiring references from you, security deposit, terms etc.

But this person is not presenting self as a professional landlord. and you may have satisfied those usual questions in previous communication.

Because it usually sets off alarm bells in tenant minds if one mentions thoughts of selling the place it is often left unmentioned if one has that in mind. But this can be simple naivety.

You would want to be sure that the person getting the money is the real owner.
