it has two floors, and was once something else?

funnycunny
estate agent talk for it was once a lovely spacious house, now some idiot who wants to gain maximum £ for his property has changed it into small pokey flats, but it was to expensive to do it properly, so they have come up with a few fancy words to mask the outcome.

Zapgaia
A duplex is a two-unit apartment building or condominium over two floors means upstairs and downstairs.Conversion means hire a surveyor.

ste_pej
Duplex means the flat has rooms over two floors.

Conversion means that the building was not originally built as flats.

Lots of old mill buildings round our way have been converted into flats, many of them duplex

It was one flat that has now been converted into two smaller flats. Watch out for thin party walls and noise transmission.

Estate Agent talk - absolute B******s.

The property is a flat covering 2 floors which would mean you have an upstairs and a downstairs. It is in a building that has been converted into flats. But you could have asked the agent to explain it yourself.
