Since you intend to buy a house, you need to know what is on the market. If you miss just one Estate Agent, he may well be the one that is selling the house that you are looking for.
Register with all of them, it costs you nothing and they will be pleased to have a new prospective buyer on their books. |

You can go register with as many as you like and view as many properties as you like before you make a choice in purchashing your ideal home, good luck. |

Slightly confused. Are you a homeowner who is looking to buy or someone who is looking to buy for the 1st time? if the second then you don't need to register with anyone. If the 1st then you obviously need to contact an estate agent to sell your house who will then get % of the cost of the house. |

I would register with anyone that has a house you are interested in, and let them work for you; however, if you find a really good buyer's agent, one that is highly recommended, I would go with them as they will work the hardest for you. When you go this way it will cut down on all the phone contacts and give you more time to do what you need to do, to get ready to make the move into a new home. |

As a 1st time buyer you can go to as many as you like. You are the one in control, always remember that. They need you, you dont need them. |

Every real estate agent has access to the same listing service (database of all homes for sale). So really you should pick an agent whom you feel most comfortable working with (feel free to interview them!) and stick with that agent. They can show you ANY home for sale, there's no need to go with multiple agents.
Some questions to ask when interviewing agents:
-Ask the real estate agent if he/she is a "buyers agent" (someone who works strictly with buyers) and ask for testimonials or references.
-Ask them how many buyers they are currently working with and will they have adequate time to spend with you.
-Ask them how well they know your area.
-Ask if they are a full-time Realtor.
-Ask what separates them from the competition.
Talk with the agent, ask questions, and then see who makes you feel most comfortable. A "good" agent will go the extra mile for you to answer all your questions/concerns; show you the "right" properties for you; and help you every step of the way (even after closing!). |

Go to as many as you can, they will fall over themselves to get you. I am a first time buyer and get loads of calls. The problem comes buying the property, i have had a bit of pratting around by the mortgage company. I would have had the keys by now if they did not waste time. |

I honestly can not answer this question for the UK since the Real Estate Market in Europe is completly different than it is here in the USA. I know that the Real Estate Market in most Countries in Europe only allows the Real Estate Agent who has the listing to sell it. However you can hire a Buyer's Agent who can do the researches for you, so you don't have to go from one Real Estate Office to the other to find the house you really like. I assume that some offices are cooperating and working together.
The MLS System in the United States makes it easier on Buyer, Seller and Agents. Every Member Real Estate Agent has access to all listings on the market listed by another Member Real Estate Agent and that covers most of the listed properties. Here you can pick an Agent of your choice and this Agent can find the best property for your needs regardless who it is listed with.
