ebay.. ikea.. charity shops... friends..... look in the classified for stuff too.. some people advertise free to collector... but don't worry you will get there... i been in my home 13 years and still need more... started off with nothing and it soon accumulates |

mite sound bit cheapish but wen me and my partner moved into our own place we had to get everything so we went to a second hand shop and everything is still in great working order had no problems whatsoever! |

Trade It type papers and second hand shops. Amazing the quality of goods you can get from the second hand papers. People just get fed up with the colour or something equally as stupid and sell it for nothing. Also try Ikea but only go for their really cheap loss leader bargains. For the small stuff like plates etc. try charity shops. Good luck. |

Corny as it sounds, you can get some real bargains at Ikea. Not all the stuff is quite my cup of tea, but some of it's okay |

if ur in the UK my friend has joined a yahoo group called freecycle its where people advertise stuff in your area that they dont want, and that you can have for free, she has said she has had lots of good things from there and that there is nothing wrong with the goods.

We atarted off with a studio couch, an old workshop table from my dad's garage, a washstand (which we used as a sideboard), a bookshelf which I'd made, 2 non-matching wooden chairs and a cooker on HP.
To keep warm we sat in the small loo which had a low window ledge and had a bunsen burner between us while we listened to a radio my husband had used as a student.
No bed - we slept on the studio couch.
Our crockery and cutlery were begged oddments.
Boy, were we happy!
In our Town the Hospice has a furniture warehouse where for peanuts you can buy almost everything, including curtains and bedding, to equip a 5-bedroomed house! Ask around your place to see if there is anything similar and what about www.freecycle.org |
