You can go to your local city hall or to the historical society to find records of the property. Maybe also check with some of your neighbors that have been there for a long time and might have known previous owners.
As for your ghostly problems I highly doubt that yours have bad intentions. If they have not tried to push you or hurt you they may not wish you harm. You may want to try EVP or electronic voice phenomenon to talk to them. Get a voice recorder to record you asking questions and later play it back to listen for answers. Do NOT do this more than once, you may draw spirits that you don't want. If you don't want to do this you can get the house blessed by your clergy person. If you are curious you can contact your local paranormal society to have them come out. Just my 2 cents. |

He obviously doesn't want to harm either of you, or he would have materialized in a more violent way than sitting in a chair. I would only be worried if things started flying across the room, because then it's a poltergeist, and you don't want one of them. |

I think that if he was there to harm you then bad things would be going on in your house. I would think that if he is just sitting there in the living room, then that is where he was most comfortable when he was living. I watched Sylvia Brown and she said that ghosts or spirits will come back and be where they were most comfortable, for example, you will most often find/see your grandma in your kitchen. My house is haunted as well, I almost don't like to use the word haunted though...I always find the thermostat at different temps...really cold settings..54 and 61, lights in the basement are on, the tv going on and off, I know that the lady before us died there, I don't think that she is trying to harm me, just maybe she was comfortable there. I went to the catholic church (I'm catholic) and got some holy water to keep in the house just incase she is wanting to do harm.
I think you can go to the county courthouse and get public records of who owned the property before you did. |

We don't believe that there is ghost ... maby Demons but ghosts ... no
If you need to get them out you must use some exorcist
But don't believe thet if some one die will be ghost or demon
We are doing many things like go to place like this full of demons
but don't warry the exorcist will make you feel Comfortable |

Try asking aloud what his/its name is and what it wants. The answer may come to you in a dream.
Explain that he/it is making you uncomfortable and you would like for it to stop.
If you feel threatened by it ask God for help.
I've tried all these and the speed at which results come is amazing. |

Always use the simple methods. In this case just ask him. Invite your friends round and have a seance. If you are not comfortable doing it by yourselves, ask a local medium to come along. |

Wow crazy stuff. Doesn't sound like u have a poltergeist just a spirit in the house. The best thing to do would be to leave it alone don't acknowledge its existence, don't do the whole evp because then its more likely to stay or attract other spirits. |

I presonnally don't believe in ghost because threw my childhood before i was 12 i lived in 7 houses and 2 were old country mansions which we always thought had ghosts in . Recently i bought a old country mansion for my brother ( 18 ) to renovate and he loves it saying when it's dark it feels haunted .
He checked it out with the nihgbours and found out the house was 300 years old at some bits . This was in England though . |
