Actually is it a GREAT time to buy. You won't be able to beat the interest rates in the next 20 years, in fact I expect them to rise as high as they did in the 1980's very soon. Add the onslaught of baby boomers and the higher demand for water property spell out a win win. The down side is the insurance costs and trouble enduring the first handful of seasons (being unable to rent out property when not in use, if that is your goal to help pay the mortgage). And if you buy condo ... those pesky maintenance fees. |

If you have the cash to invest and the time to wait, how could buying property in the Gulf NOT be a good idea right now? Prices are destroyed....but it's not realistic to think the damage is permanent....there have ALWAYS been oil spills*, and the planet is still here! |
