ShortSalesStink | HELP!!! I need answers |
Ok...so this is our story....back in November we found a beautiful home we wanted to purchase! It has been a LONG drawn out process....(as most short sales are)we are almost at the start of April now, and we are still not in the house, and we were told last week that we may not even get the house now. A few weeks back, I received an email from someone I know that lived on the same street of the house we want to purchase, and this person told me that the house had sold, but it wasn't to us per the owners that currently occupy the home. I was SHOCKED beyond belief to hear this, because I had just spoke to our realtor who told us that the paperwork was on it's way to the title company. whew! what a relief to hear!!! Well, the following week we get a call saying that the title company received the paperwork, "with conditions" the conditions were, they wanted 11,000.00 more than the offer we gave, we said "no" after all we already went up once on it. So now, we hear that someone else has put an offer on it, and is giving the bank what they want. Now the our realtor says the only way we will get the house is if it gets appraised this week for less than what the bank is wanting, than the other persons offer is dead and it comes back to us? I don't understand this whole process, we had a contract on this house, and I am wondering if something seems a little fishy here. We are wondering if the house was sold out from underneath us and this is just there way of covering their a$$'s. This house has been on the market for over a year now with maybe one offer in the past, and now all of a sudden it's become a hot commodity! UGG!!!! Would a title company receive paperwork stating "with conditions" I thought the title company was used for closing purposes. Anyone that may have answers please let me know, and thank you for reading! |
