I believe that houses will rise at a reduced pace, but flats and studio apartments/starter homes will fall as this seems to be what the majority of new constructions are. With more of this type of property available, prices will probably have a slight fall or stay static. |

Depends on what part of the country you are talking about. In the midwest and south, prices are going down slowly and will continue to inch down for a while. In the West and northeast, prices are leveling off even as we speak and will probably stay flat for a year or two before rising rapidly with a new Democratic administration. |

The value in my area is continuing to increase. The sellers in this area are desperate to sell so................they are lowering the price. I know of a transaction the new owner got 80K equity. That should not happen. |

The market it is slowing down, and therefore the house prices will stay constant for a little while but it is likely that they will then drop. |

Prices are going to drop but there is not going to be a crash. 3/4% at average. Remember there many people still looking to buy at the moment |

Prices on new homes are dropping but very slowly. This is because mortgage companies are more cautious about lending and because people finally realized how inflated the costs are for new homes. People were sucked into mortgages they could not afford and it has caught up with them. Those people are now suffering and the news media has caused people to believe this effects all home sales. In reality a home bought several years ago is still worth more than the buying price at that time. In regality buying a home now is no different than in the past; there should be no fear in buying a house - just be sure you can afford it and your mortgage company is not screwing you. Buying pre-owned homes are your best bet as developers are still out to make a killing with their mark-ups and efforts to suck people into buying. Nice homes but at a higher cost and more risk. The home sales business is being crippled by poor media coverage that leaves people believing this is not a good time to buy; the fact is the problem effected only those people who did not invest wisely but rather exceeded their capabilities. I am sure we will see major investors taking advantage of the media hype as people become afraid to buy and investors get the benefit of foreclosed homes. |

Depends on where the house is. There is NO national real estate market, there is only a national AVG. Some will ALWAYS be going up and some will always be going down. Just like stocks, cars, and everything else in this world.
Do you really think that EVERY house in EVERY town in EVERY state in EVERY country will vary in price the same way at the same time? |
