Has anyone had trouble with loan officers from countrywide? The agent won't return my phone calls or e-mails.
I am 11 days away from closing and the loan officer im working with does not return my phone calls or e-mails. I am only able to contact him by making about 50 phone calls a day to his desk. Of the 50 phone calls I might get through once if im lucky. 11 days away from closing and the appraisal is still not completed. Our Real estate agent is also unable to get ahold of the loan officer. I have tried making complaints to his supervisor, but nothing has come of that. Every time I ask to speak to his supervisor I am given a different persons name everytime. We are to close to closing to change lenders. Is there anything I can do?

Hi,
We had the same problem and after 4 1/2 months of waiting they totally mess up our loan so bad we had to refuse it at closing. They had all the numbers wrong, and the cash out was about 40K lower then we expected. We called them at the closing and no one responded for two more weeks. I've never seen such bad costumer service in my life. We ended up going through Bank of America. No problem there! Countrywide has major money problems right now, so don't think they are doing this to just you..... they need a Management shake up. JMHO

Sorry to hear your situation, they are most likely shorthanded if your loan officer has not been laid off yet.
Get a back up lender, if no appraisal has been done, how can CW give you anything? that value is important for all the calculations and documents, don't you think so?

I have no problems dealing with my local Countrywide office.

However, at this stage it is time to change lenders.

I hate Countyrwide and I've worked for them, not bought with them. They are so big, they can pawn you off on who ever they want. Very annoying.

The appraisal has often been the cause for getting late. On average, lenders don't order the appraisal far enough before the closing date & they yell at us for time when it's their fault. I'm an appraiser.

They don't want to discuss much if they don't have the appraisal either. It's the big deciding factor in the whole equation. If you called me 50 times a day I wouldn't answer the phone either!

Countrywide has major problems, so that's not suprising.

To be honest it seems like there is a snag in your loan otherwise he would want to get this closed he does make commision on it afterall. I would either speak to a realestate attorney or look for a different lender. Try www.restructureyourmortgage.com they are pretty fast. Best of luck to you.

change lenders now!!!!!

dont wait or you will get burned in the end.

go with your gut feeling....there are plenty of signs showing you go somewhere else. the last thing you need is for Country to tell you that the Rate changed or the term got worse right before closing date. then you will have no choices!!

hopefully your new lender may offer you a better rate or term......

countrywide is in trouble with numerous layoffs and people leaving. Call other brokers and in the current market. I am sure someone will bust thier hump to get your business done...
