In the area I live in most seem to be selling within 4 months but I have seen a few that have been on the market for 6months onwards.

I think the housing market does slow down in winter as many people are gearing up for Christmas and the summer months as people are on holiday and children off school. I am looking at putting mine on the market after the New Year.

It depends where you are. I have friends around the country trying to sell properties and they are all telling me different things. Parts of London are still selling pretty fast (unlikely to be on the market for more than a fortnight) yet other parts of London will see the property on the market for 4-6 weeks. I've recently property in the East Midlands on the market for a few months.

This is information that is very case specific and it depends on where you are located. So places a home is still selling in 1 week and other it takes over a year. Contact a local realtor and they can give you a better idea. Hope I helped.

I agree with the poster who said that price and location make a difference. Where I am many, many homes have been on the market for well over a year.

In this county alone there are 8-10 foreclosures every day, most of which are not even being bid on at auction. These homes will hit the market as well.

Real estate is a localized thing. Your area may be doing better than mine.

I am in Florida.

In my experience it is not slowing locally to me. I live in the London Borough of Hillingdon.

House prices don't appear to be falling either.

time on the market is directly related to location and price. A properly priced home in a great location will sell quickly.

we are seeing the average time on the market nationwide to be 96 days. 3 years ago the average was 52 days.

I sold mine 2yrs ago. It was sold within 2 weeks of putting it on the market, and completion was 12 weeks from when i first put it up. I was lucky though. And i made nearly 3 times what i bought it for 3 years beforehand.

I sold my house earlier in the year, and it sold on the day it went on the market, after one viewing.

I've heard that things are slowing a bit now though. I imagine a lot will depend on the price bracket you are in, and how competitively priced the property is.

Frankly at the peak of buying and selling, I thought our house was a very good prospect. The lovely word was we were buggered about from pillar to post by people I think now were just not interested. The Agents have a word for them, I probably have another. If you have a good property and really only you know that, it will sell. With the others people will commit themselves knowing what they are buying and are prepared to put things ;or they will deduct the price of correction form the basic price. To sincerely answer your question, if the value is right you will sell
