File a written complaint. Give it to landlady. Then if that doesn't work then request to leave property without breach of contract if you signed a month to month or annual commitment. Usually this lets them know. They can let you leave without any penalty. If you really like living there then ask them to make it more habitable. If you must complain then file a civil complaint with the civil court's housing part.
However that doesn't make matter better.

The guy upstairs from me is exactly the same way, its so irritating, I hear bass from his music at all hours, and I hear him having sex which is just weird. i complain about it to the office and it stops for a little while and eventually he gets back to the same way he was, so I just keep complaining, maybe he'll get it one day, lol. I'd like to tell you theres something you can do but there probably really isn't, or at least there isnt to my knowledge. You may just have to try and get used to it, However, I wouldn't put up with the music at all, you pay rent, there is no reason for that. but theres not a whole lot you can do about them living their lives yanno. They can't stop talking, and children wont stop playing, its just the harsh reality of apartment life. Perhaps you can keep your eye out for a good rent house around the time your lease is up? Maybe apartments just arent for you. They arent for everyone. |

Maybe its their revenge for all the noise you made while moving furniture and fixing things and painting. Maybe you stomp when you walk too, without realizing it.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. I don't think there's anything you can do. |

Hard spot, since it’s the landlord doing the nuisance and its during day time hours, Most likely you will have to be preempted and try to do things to your unit then complaining about children in the morning, for the landlord can always refuse to renew the lease |

i have been in a similar situation. Trust me...you can't tell neighbors not to live their life. It seems you have to move. i did move under similar circumstances now and I am very very happy I did. (P.S. go to a better built/constructed home) |

Is it an apartment complex? If it is, see if you can move into another apartment.
As for what you have done to fix up the apartment, Sometimes you just have to cut your losses, and leave! |

keep telling them its too noisy
in the mean time invest in some noise cancelling headphones u can buy them at the sharper image and other stores like that. good ones are expensive though... |

Not much you can do. The laws only cover excessive noise, above and beyond normal talking and moving around. Most of what you described sounds like normal apartment sounds.
Unfortunately it is just something you have to deal with in an apartment. |

Either move to another unit or find someplace else. Always go there all times of the day and night and check it out fully before moving in. |

If the floor/walls are thin enough to hear regular conversations during the day, it's going to be hard to keep them quiet. I'd get some thick rugs for sound insulation, and some desk fountains to cover the noises. I think wearing headphones or earplugs inside my home would frustrate me more than help the situation. If you move units, you'll probably find that the floors are just as thin... and you might have a neighbor who plays Guitar Hero at 3am. |

Yea just amke your tv even louder so when they complain say that you were just doing that since they werent be considerate to you. Bu tthats knda hard when the landlords are the ones being the A$$holes! I say sorry to say but if you keep conplaining to them and they aren't doing anything about it then your gonna have to move out! Or go to the landlady and tell her your concerns since you said she's nice |
