They are dropping. Can't you look all around you and see what is going on? Millions of people are losing their homes, etc ...
However, L.A. will always be expensive no matter what. It may drop a little, but nothing like the surrounding counties are going to. Perhaps you should look into buying just outside of L.A. You can get twice as much for your $$ and less traffic. |

No one can tell you if prices will drop or increase especially in the state of California. Ya'll live in a different world when it come to real estate.
Hook up with a Loan Broker and a good real estate agent and go from there. Just because you contact these people now does not mean you have to use them right this minute.
If your credit is even marginal then work on that before you do anything to give yourself a chance.
Ca. is still one of those places that a property can be listed and STILL have folks offering thousands over the listing price just to have a chance at homeownership, of course that does not pertain to every section of the state but LA is usually one of them. |

It is dropping but not so you would notice a substantial difference in your house payment. Falling 2 or 4 percent only counts over the decades. |

In Southern California some housing prices have dropped a little, especially in Riverside County, and they are expected to drop more in the coming 24 months. SoCal is the region that is most effected by the mortgage meltdown, with lots of foreclosures. However, while overall housing prices will dip a little, the overall prices will be incredibly high |

Prices have been stagnant and/or lowering over the past few months - although the higher end properties are still going for lots of money. You need to decide how much you can afford and contact a realtor/real estate agent to see if she/he can help you find your first property. |
