Doreen | House prices..? |
I know where on the internet to find out how much houses were sold for but can someone please tell me how long after the sale before it appears on these sites?? I want to know how much my neighbours got for their house so I can get a rough idea how much mines is worth!! |

ask them!!!!!!!
About six months after the completion of the sale |

Oh dear!
Another asker not sure which country they are in!
I'll assume you are in the UK, if you're not, that's too bad.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, the Land Registry are permitted to release the information as soon as registration has completed.
Be aware however, that 'completion' of the sale does not coincide with registration.
For example, if you completed on a purchase and moved in today, registration may not happen for several weeks. It depends how quick your solicitor is , and how busy the appropriate Land Registry is!.
There are several free sites on the internet, just type in 'House Prices'
Good Luck |

Just call your estate agent and get a free valuation. |

It updates fairly quickly, I bought a house a couple of months before it went online and mine was on there. An estate agent is unlikely to tell you how much it went for but they will tell you the asking price and whether it was close to it if you ask them. |

the day after it closes a Real Estate agent can find out for you. |

why dont you just get the same estate agent to value your property and they will give you a ruff idea what others in your road have sold for |

Log onto www.ourproperty.co.uk It's free, and will take about 2/3 months to get results. Depend on the House agent. You can arrange to be e-mailed.
Just enter your postal code.
Good Luck. |

Prices for Houses and other big ticket items like automobiles are uniquely driven by Supply and Demand. Besides "location," curb appeal and a potential buyer's assessment of how much work, decorating and add'l improvements the Buyers felt that are necessary after move-in, I would recommend people in all honesty take their time when shopping since it is a lot of money to correct a mistake that they truly evaluate various locations & neighborhoods that apeal to them first & then look closely at what homes are available... with patience if Buyers gauge and assess what particular features & factors were BIG PLUSES in deciding one property over another, in the end they will not regret their decison. Thus, even if you found out your neighbor's selling price a few hours after it was sold...truthfully that price is simply a Target or Baseline bec it is unrealistic to actually believe that their twin will come along and want to purchase your home at the same identical price. Rather I would recommend you utilizing that final price as part of your EXPECTED RANGE of what you might actually get unless of course, your house was ready in showroom condition and were prepared to list it for sale within the next 24 hours. I am NOT a real estate agent but have a BS Finance with enough undergraduate courses in real estate finance. I work in contracts and have done 4 For Sale By Owners transactions incl helping our next door neighbor. There are so many different market variables that can affect what one actually takes away in HOME EQUITY after a home sale goes to settlement. For example the selling price does not list or identify all the conditions that the Seller conceded after a Home Inspection, and though in our neighborhood of 25 colonials despite only having 2 models, different owmers do different upgrades so bottomline is your next door neighbor's price is simply a ballpark figure that one could also derive by going to the local government website and getting the selling prices of other similar homes nearby (a real estate appraisers job description). |

If you're looking at Rightmove then I have known it take over 4 months to check the price. I wanted to know how much a house that I had looked at actually sold for when I bought one across the road. Just as a comparison really as the price went down really low. You may be better off pretending that you were a potential buyer and phoning the estate agents-they should give the price that the house sold for. Otherwise as others have sais-get a free valuation, preferably by the same agents and then they may tell you anyway. |
