Taxes ...UGGHU! :-( where do you live? Taxes on a 15,000 sq ft House would cost close to $50,000 a/yr how can you save money! I live in a 3,000 sq ft house and my little brother thinks that is a waste of space. I love it though. It is just perfect for my husband and I. It is kind of hard to imagine living in anything smaller any more.( I had a bedroom in the attic of my parents home growing up,so anything is better than that!)
Have fun doing lawn work and the cleaning! lol
And to think John Edwards lives in a 30,000sq ft home and
John Kerry has 6 homes ranging from 10,000sq ft ---15,000sq ft

Here's my 2 cents: we had a smaller home (2k sq ') that got too small for us and moved into a larger home (3.5K sq. ') and within 3 years, we were way too overcrowded again- only worst. We paid way too much for heating and taxes and repairs and maintenance such as painting and roofing etc. We then moved into another 2K house, got rid of our junk and have never been happier. The reason:
I think one of the reason is the stages of ones life that dictates the size of the homes we are comfortable in. Also, how many will live in the house and also, the different types of activities that all are involved in the house- such as excersize, hobbies, collections, dark room needs. etc. Hope this helps a little. Too big? Is your concern the amount of housework that will be req'd (since 97% of women feel they do more housework than their hubby)? If so, simply do whatever housework you enjoy, delegate a portion of the remainder to your husband, and hire a worker to come in and do the real dirty work every month :) |

the more the merrier. however if you feel it's too big think about selling it if you can make a considerable profit. then buy a smaller house and put a big chunk of money away for retirement. |
