the council won't rehouse you until you've been repossessed. have you been 'threatened' by your mortgage company yet? email me if you need any help - I'm sorry to say it, but I used to work as a Repossession agent for a mortgage company. |

you need to go to the council and apply right away to go on the housing list - they will take note of your repossesion order but wilol not actually rehouse you until after the event - on the day you go to court you will get a frinal date to leave - take the letter you get to the council and they will (a) get you to live with family or friends (b) tell you to private rent (c) put you up in a hostel - you will go onto the housing waiting list and given a priority rating - i am sorry to say there are hundreds of people on waiting lists all classified as 'homeless' so you could be staying in (A,B or C) for some time - you are not automatically rehoused in nice property |

Sorry to say that there are estimated to be 15 to 20+ people on lists for every available house. Too many have been sold and not replaced. You will have to pester everyone and anyone involved locally to stand even a remote chance of being placed in temporary accommodation let alone permanent (depending on where you are of course).
Do all you can to stay where you are for as long as possible, or sell and go into private rental (housing benefit will help with rent).
I really sympathise with your situation (been there, done that, got the ulcer), and wish you luck. Remember that they can take away your home, they can take away your hope, but they'll never take......Your freedom!
If you can.....Keep smiling. |

Oh No. You've got it all wrong, Housing Associations aren't there to help you, they are there to control you and take money from you.
You can expect to get no help from them. In fact they may buy your house for a pretty penny and then resell it to make even more $$$.
The Housing association could care less about your two children. They will be very nice to you to your face, and you may even get your hopes up, but somehow no help will ever materialize. All they will care about is getting the "right kind" of people into your house after you are gone. The fact that you are late on your Association fees just means they will be even less sympathetic to your situation. |

you might only get b and b for a while as they may consider that you made yourself homeless |
