How Many people are allowed live in a one bedroom apartment?

Additional Details
There are like 4 adults and two children living above me, and its I never have any peace and quiet. It's a nightmare.

Sabrina the greek
as many as u can fit

reenzz
4 adults and 2 children in a 1 bedroom is a violation of housing laws and fire code laws. I would immediately call your local authorities and report this.

If you are in the US call the Department of Health, they will take care of this. If that is not effective enough CPS will intervene too, that is child neglect as it is an unhealthy situation.

All occupapation limits are the same, 2 people plus one baby. Some states call a child a baby for 12 months, other 24.

This is covered by local housing ordnances.

its usually two people but a child is the exception to three people

You'd have to read your lease.

I would hope no more than 3 - a couple in the bedroom and a guest on the couch.

generally it is 2 people per bedroom, they do not consider the living room to be sleeping quarters

Depends upon LOCAL LAW and the LEASE from the owner's of the apartment. HAVE YOU thought to ask the people you signed the lease with? Have you checked local law by calling your city/county office?

T E
a one bedroom is for two persons, a couple (married or common law) or two close friends, who may or may not have babies who may stay in the same room in a crib, or one or two small kids who stay in family room.

the local housing law may cover the number of occupants allowed, however, the landlord can restrict the apartment to those who are on the rental agreement and their dependents.

u may wish to discuss the problem with the landlord.
