If in the U.S. go to the county courthouse (in the county where the proprty is) and ask them for an appraisal report (or something like that) it will have the name and address of the person they send the tax bill to.
OR
If your county's public records are available online, go to that website and look it up on your own. There should not be a fee for this.

Go to the country records office and do a title search. You'll have to research the address first, but you may be able to get the address from the post office. |

You would need to get the exact address, try looking online under public records, I can check houses in my area going into the tax records. They should list the owner and a current address. Write a letter explaining who you are and what you would like to do. Good Luck KG |

A title search on the address at the county offices will show who owns the home and land. Drive by the house, get an address. If there's no address posted, get the address of the houses closest to the house on either side (even if they are not close), and the street name. The post office can help you determine what the exact address is from there. |

easy way. Go to the property tax office and give them the street address. Ask if the taxes have been paid (probably not). They will give you a print out of the tax statement, which shows the owner, address and tax amount due. |

That information is deemed "public information" and it is available to you and everyone at no cost. It is available by request at the county tax assessors office. If you are lucky your county is advanced enough to provide a website that can supply that data. A local Realtor can also get that information pretty quickly and if you have a relationship with them, I am sure they would take a few minutes to provide that to you. You will need to provide them the address. The tax records may not have a current phone # to call but they will have a mailing address on file. If you prefer to speak to the owner you could ask the neighbors. They may have some info. If not then send a letter to the address received from the tax office stating who you are and your wish to purchase the property. *While you are at the tax office... ask if there are any deliquent payments or any tax lien sales. The owner may have not payed taxes but maybe the municipality sold the tax lien off to someone all ready and they may also want to by the property and being a lien holder they would have an advantage over you. Your county may conduct Sheriff Sales and if they do you may want to see if the property is on their list. If it is then be at the courthouse the date of the auction and hope that it does not get postponed and hope that you are the highest bidder. Good Luck |

Not sure but I think you have to go to the court house and find out who owns it. By giving them the address of the house, they should be able to tell you who owns it. Then you can contact the person and ask if it's for sale. Like I said it's just my guess. |

Go to the city and ask for the records and there might be a phone number of the owner or the city my own it and sell it to you if it hasn't been sold yet....Good Luck |

You can do a title search. In some states and counties you can do it online. |
