You can rent furniture for that time frame. They deliver, set up, and pull it out when you are done. Make sure you rent only necessities so you bill does not get to high and make sure you don't miss a payment. They can be vicious if you do.
RENT TO OWN is the biggest in the states and the most reliable.

Your only other option is to buy used furniture at thrift shops. But I know the Santa Barbara area and everything there is high priced. It is the rich mans paradise. I doubt you will find used items around there. And if you do it will cost plenty I am sure.

I know many who have moved into small places and bought AIR mattress to sleep on and rented a television. You can get plates and utensils and a coffee pot at the thrift stores. You don't need a large amount of furnishings for only two months. Act like this is a camping trip and keep it low.

Have fun in Santa Barbara.

here is your best bet, Free! go on craigslist.com look up your state on the right side, then your city area. then you will see in the middle section under for sale, it says free. People give furniture and stuff away on there free all the time. I kow I have some stuff in my apartment. Its like a garage sale on line. and it becomes addicting. Also look under furniture and household goods, some stuff may not be free, but usually relativly cheap. Also Ikea, if its in your area has resonable prices. Good luck! I love craigslist.com

There are a lot of rental places, like rent-to-own and such. You can get furniture and then they will take it back at the end of the time. I rent a big screen tv for a month every year during football season

Go to a Salvation Army store and buy some cheap old sofas and a inexpensive table and chairs. When you move you can give them back to the Salvation Army. That way you will have the furniture you need for a few months and by having bought everything from the Salvation Army and returning it to them you have also donated to charity twice. :-)

Thrift stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.)

Yard Sales!!!! Best time of year for that and good deals. Shop around. Use local free newspapers and even paid newspapers to find some.

Search for a company that rents furniture to model homes, corporations, etc. A company I have worked with in the past is Cort. Unfortunately, they do not appear to have a location near Santa Barbara. But you can look for companies that offer staging services. They may be able to help you.

Shel
You could go to a rent to own place and see if they can do something for you. Otherwise, hit a few garage sales and buy enough to just get by, then either have a moving sale or donate the stuff to a shelter of some sort.

rent it at rent a center.

Go dig in a dumpster, would you?

U can try rent a center--U can look up temp apts on craiglist.org definitely. im sure ud find something. usually to rent an apt u need to lease it for more than 6 mts. and they ask u for a 2 month deposit as well im sure u know, u can try on craiglist and reach out to Owners that r willing to rent on a temporary basis.
about the furniture if u really wont b needing it i suggest u buy some old ones then sell'em or find ur closest rent-a-center and rent some furniture even a tv, sorround system etc

Where I live Rent a Center is the place to go for furniture, TV, washer and dryer etc for rent long or short term. Try the local area phone book or the Internet for rental furniture.
