please expain to me how a nurse I work with can get help from the government to buy a house? She is a single mother with a 13 year old child, makes good money, and has already purchased one home in her own name, yet qualified for a government assisted loan to purchase a home that cost 245,000? What happened to working to earn a home, and buying a home you can afford on your income and hard work alone? I bought my house with straight up hard work, saving and not mooching off the government. I know that I could not afford a 245,000 home on my paycheck, and I make the same income that she has. It kills me to see government money go to those that do not need it just so they can say "look what I have". she does not need 4 bedrooms, a pool, 3 acres and a 2 car garage so she, her son and live-in boyfriend who doesnt even have a job to live in. Im not asking for a free hand-out. im happy with what ive earned on my own, but come on! |

your missing the bigger picture, stories like the one you speak about are well documented to keep our eyes off of the real problem... that woman is getting help, let's say she's getting the house for free as an extreme example, thats a measly $245,000. Did you know that in 2005, the United States gov't alone gave GM over $200,000,000,000 in corporate welfare, and still they slashed jobs and the CEO and his vice presidents gave themselves a 9% raise. So, whats worse getting robbed of a penny or $1000? That lady gets pennies and those rich b astards get millions and you're upset at the lady? |

FIRST OFF, THERE IS A MAJOR SHORTAGE OF NURSES. THE PAY IS LOW FOR THE AMOUNT OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION REQUIRED. THE AVERAGE SALARY I BELIEVE IS $50,000 (ROUGHLY), WHICH IS HORRIBLE FOR 6 YEARS OF HIGHER EDUCATION. THIS IS THE SAME SITUATION THE SCHOOLS ARE IN. THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF TEACHERS BECAUSE OF THE LOW PAY MIXED WITH THE MANY YEARS OF REQUIRED HIGHER EDUCATION. UNLESS THE AVERAGE SALARY IS RAISED FOR THESE PROFESSIONS, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A SHORTAGE AND THE GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TO MAKE BENEFITS. |

She probably can obtain a loan because nurses are under paid and under appreciated in the industry. So what that she gets to have a bigger home. If you had the opportunity to do the same thing you know that you would in a heartbeat.

I live in the DC area and there are some brand new apartments that they have built in the area. They are part of the "tax credit program" to help people with lower incomes. I applied to them because I don't make much money. When they found out that I was a part time college student they said I could not live there. When I asked why they said students aren't allowed to live on their own. I am 25 years old!!! They said if I was a single mother though they would help me. This is insane. I am trying to better myself and they won't help me. Apparently I have to get pregnant to get help. |

It is good to be upset about this woman and the handouts she is getting. You may not be able to do anything about the big stuff, but you can do something about the little things. The more little things you are able to correct, the more the big things will be noticed and corrected.
This woman has obviously learned how to cheat the system effectively. Contact your US Senators and Representatives. Let them know what you know. Tell they you are tired of the waist. They may simply say “that’s life,” but I’ve had some in the past that actually took action.
Turning a person like that in is not a matter of simply complaining about someone who is able to get more than you. It is a matter of being heard and taking a stand against wasteful spending that could be going to a better cause.

These bloodsucking parasites spend $1800.00 on a hammer and $30000 on a toilet seat money is nothing to them the people that set up that loan are trying to buy her "pointless" vote. If you want reform and change try looking away from the Repulicrats and try a 3rd party. I prefer the green party but there are several others.
