How do I evict my girlfriend who is not on my lease agreement (california)?
Every time I ask her to leave she threatens to have me arrested for domestic violence. I have not done anything and wouldnt, (I have a prior on my record and she knows it. I have had to barricade myself in my room when she is drunk or on drugs. I feel I am a helpless hostage in my own house. Please help me!

Changing the locks is against the law.

Surprisingly move in with a friend for a few weeks and suspend the electricty, water, phone, cable, etc. You may have to continue paying the rent, but there is nothing in the law that says you have to supply her with electricity etc.

After you move out, contact the police and start the eviction process. If you call them while she is there, you risk her turning it around on you.

If she is required to pay for electricty etc, she will probably move.

Are you in an apartment complex?
Contact your landlord and let them know of the situation, it is possible they may with the cooperation of law enforcement tell her directly that they do not want her at the complex at all. Especially if she disturbs the peace or something.
Or if she is bringing the drugs into your home, then you need to call the police too.

First thing i would do is obtain a restraining order. Then tell the police that you have a girlfriend who is living with you who refuses to leave. What you have to understand is if you do something without prior police involvement then you leave the door open for her to make accusations of abuse and anything she feels like telling the police you have allegedly done to her.You have to get documentation for everything you pay for and buy, because if you don't she might walk away with some of your stuff. If you really want the easiest way out start with the restraining order. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

You can do what I did, I changed the locks while he was at work, then put all his stuff in the front. ..lol Seriously, go talk to your manager, ask them to give her notice that since she is not on the lease, she must leave, that way you don't look like the bad guy. You can also call the local police station, and ask them to take a report, tell them the situation, that way it is documented, in case she does try to call them...you are protected, they already have it on file she is a nut job. You could also lock her out when she is drunk and make an anonymous phone call to the police that there is a drunk running around the building..she will go to jail, you get peace & quiet (forget I said that...that is really mean) Guess it all depends on how much you want to get rid of her,....you can set her up with another guy...(preferrably a really jealous one that will convince her to move in with him, since he won't like the fact that she's living with a guy) I think talking to the manager is your best bet....let me know how it goes, at superloanlady@yahoo.com....
good luck

call the cops... but do it sneaky like. or, help her find a new place and tell her its time to go... you will help her move. but i would at least alert the cops to her threats. dont worry, if there is not evidence of domestic violence, they wont arrest you.

when she leaves, change the lock? and if she comes knock your door, call police on her? 2 easy steps to tell her goodbye

book writer
Set her things out side and tell her to get them before the garbageman does. Change the locks and go stay with a friend for a while. Put a DVO on her first, it's a race to the court house first one there wins, RUN.
