You can contact a local property manager and get some guidelines. I believe if this person has abandon the contents of the apartment that you are able to dispose of them after an attempt to notify her. There may be a time period. But check out your local ordinances at the county courthouse or town hall. |

I don't know where you live, but you should contact your local police and/or rentalsman if there is such a business where you are. Whatever you do, do it the legal way. You may have to take a loss on you money because this is a civil suit and not criminal. As for the pot smoking, you need to prove that. |

if she left with no forwarding address, then just be glad she's gone and move on with a better tenant.
I suggest you ask for previous landlord references, and check them out before letting it to anyone else.
if you know where she is, then you can hire a private bailiff. Doesn't always work, though - if she has nothing worth taking, then you'll not get your money back unfortunately. |

...obviously, you can't "evict" someone who is already gone. As far as the criminal activity...call the police. The civil crimes like the rent and deposits...there's where you need a Lawyer (will it be worth it...?) |

File Landlord-tenent complaint in local court system! |

You are going to have to look up the Landlord/Tenant laws for your state.
If the tenant abandoned the apartment, you may not have to evict. |

You don't have to evict her if she has been gone for more than 30 days, and you are free to do with her belongings what you will.
Because of her lifestyle, I would first report it to the police...it could possibly be a missing person and/or foul play.
The FIRST time you smelled pot, you should have called the police. |
