click on "what is my house worth" and there you can check out the like properties in your neighborhood. The list will consist of homes that were recently sold. Otherwise, you can pay $350 for an appraiser to come out and appraise it. Best Wishes! |

You would hire an appraiser that looks at comparable homes in your area to see what they have recently sold for or are currently asking for if on sale. Or, a website like www.zillow.com will show you estimated values (all you do is enter the address or search by map). |

Zillow is a joke, don't rely on that.
My answer depends on what your goals are. If you are looking to refinance, apply and the lender will have your house appraised.
If you want to sell, have a couple Realtors bring you a Comparative Market Analysis. Some Realtors will attempt to "buy the listing" by firing a high list price at you, then spend the rest of the contract term trying to talk you down off that price with new CMA's that suddenly come up with a lower price. |

zillow.....LOL. Yeah, THAT will give you a REAL accurate zestimate of your house's value. A house I bought Nov 9, 2007 lists for 284,000...and I paid 169,900. VERY good estimate. Anybody want to buy a house for 275K???? It's BELOW zillow with a$10,000.00 discount AND I'll pay ALL cosing costs TODAY. |
