I can tell you how to do it here in the US, perhaps Ireland would have a similar process. The county government in your area should have records on who owns the land, either through documents registration or through the tax collector's office.

Is it listed in the Doomsday book? Seriously... check at the county offices... somebody there can point you in the right direction.

Here in the US you can find out the owner of land by the tax records which are public records.
