How do I get out of a rental lease with a roommate?
I can't take my roommate anymore. I am tired of babysitting her kids and she can be irresponsible. I will feel bad for the kids but I have kids of my own that I have to take care of. I have those kids 24/7 because of her job. I have been doing this for over and year and I am TIRED. She doesn't pay me and I have ask her too but she is wasteful with her money and is never able to pay me consistently. I have to get out of this lease before I have a nervous break down. I called the rental agency and they told me to wait until the least is up but that is in November. I can't wait that long. I have no life. Plus I am taking 2 classes. I am stress the f*** out and my kids are miserably. What can I do? Please help.

find someone else to move in and it could subsidized....if not, then you're stuck...unless you pay all that rent up til November you could move out then...just save your payment proof. Good luck!

Try to find someone to take over your lease and move in with her or ask her to move out and find a new roomate. If she won't do this then tell her you will not babysit her kids anymore and she is going to have to take them to daycare somewhere else because you are not going to watch them for her. Put your foot down and mean it.
Good Luck.

Threaten legal action.

30 day notice, get the deposit back and tell her to shove the kids. Small law suit courts are available, too. Claim mental anguish, abuse, harrassment, your own life disappeared because she unduly imposed upon you ,etc, etc. Hit back and hit the road. You sound too decent to be used by your 'friend'.

Call department of human services and report her for neglect!!
Give her your 1/2 of the rent minus any fees she owes you for babysitting, and tell her she can pay the full rent with the difference due to you!
DO NOT watch her children for her, tell you that you have plans, and leave the house..if her children are there, again, call and report her for leaving the children alone...cruel, yes, but she IS neglecting them...and abusing you and your children!

well if you're roommate happen to have an accident and kick the bucket I think you're legally out...

FIRST DID BOTH OF YOU SIGN THE LEASE CONTRACT WITH THE RENTAL COMPANY?
If not only the lessee is ultimately responsible and will be held accountable to the lease.
secondly you need to come to a agreement with your roommate
and put it in writing and have it notarized and give a copy to the rental agency. Making the separation legal.

Good Luck

not much. you can buy out your half, which basically means paying rent without living there. or you can sublet your half to another renter, good luck finding someone to take your place though. I feel really bad for you, sitations like that suck. roomates are nothing but trouble.

You can just leave. You will still be responsible for rent through the lease period, but you will be out of the situation. Your roomate might also move out and leave you with all the rent to pay. In that case, you could just move back in as the "problem" will be gone. There is, unfortunately, no cheap way out, other than to put up with the insanity and aggravation until November.

Grab a copy of the rental contract and read it with a fine tooth comb.
And pray there's some sort of early exit clause. Even if there's a fine.

But if there isn't... I suggest you try to find some way to cope with it, because it's legally binding, and hopefully in the future you'll be lucky to find a more responsible roommate.

Fake your own death and hide in Brazil.

Give her notice
If it's a contract then you can either sublet the place
Give her 3 months notice
Pay her 3 months and move now
