Ask them if you can pay a few months in advance, so instead of a deposit + 1 months rent you could pay a deposit + 3 months rent that way they know you have at least 2 months to find a job.

Get the job first, pick a start date, then get the apartment near the job.

There are rooms that are rented on weekly basis or monthly basis. This may be your best bet until you get a job. Most apartment owners prefer to have lease.

Laura
they might require a cosigner that has verifiably good credit. Parents are usually good for this. Keep in mind, though, that if you don't pay your rent they may be held accountable for it.

maybe if you have a cosigner, I didnt have a job in college my parents paid my rent for awhile until I found a job. But I had to put them on my application.

Look for a place that has a month to month option or a short term lease and pay up front. This will cost you a bit more money but will most likely be your only option.

I don't know how old you are, but maybe you could get a financially solvent relative (parent, maybe) to co sign for you until you get back on your feet? And you know, usually most people will understand your plight. Good luck.

As long as you can afford to pay the rent, I am sure they will understand but incase you fail there will be no understanding. My view would be to rent a bigger place then re-rent it to your friends or other individual at a slightly higher price per room, to cater for the rent of the place. Good luck

If you're sure you can find a job, don't even bring it up to the landlord. All they care about is that you will have the money every month. It would be better for you if you had a job first. I'm sure it would be less stressful in the long run. Good luck!

you get a job first..once you have it, then you can move to where you want..

As long as you have a deposit and savings
what's their problem?
You could make some phone calls to check.

no...maybe if you give them, first and last months rent and 1 month security maybe.... get a job first, stay in a hotel for a week before you move and go on interviews... i don't know anyone that would rent to someone without a job... or just lie and hope they don't check... unless your really hot and you find a really sleazy landlord...

vgagent93
It depends where and who your renting from, but im sure they will, as long as you keep your word about getting a job

I seriously doubt it. Your work and credit history say a lot about you. Just because you have some available cash on hand now doesn't mean that someone is going to trust you in the future to be on time with your rent when you don't already have a job. Get a job, then look for an apartment. In order to earn someone's trust, you have to give them something to work with. Maybe you could get a co-signer who would be responsible for your rent until you find the perfect job. I think that you have got important issues turned around backwards.
