summit685 | How do i calculate cost per square foot on a one year lease at $1260 per month for 200 sq. ft.? |
|
|

abianca@sbcglobal.net
 |
$1260 divided by 200 feet. That number multiplied by the number of months. |
|

Lapis Lazuli
|
divide it
1260 divided by 200 |
|

b c
|
Divide $1260 by 200 |
|

Abby
|
1260 x 12 = a
a/200 = cost per sq. ft. per yr. (or)
1260/12 =cost per sq. ft. per month
the two will be off from each other by a minimal amout. |

Ask the person you're leasing from - why should you do all the work? |

Most leases will list the sq footage as an annual amount wich would be....Wait that can not be right. unless you are in Manhatten that is outragous. You are getting ripped off unless there is something in that lease.
I have 3000 sq foot on a main street with 18 foot ceilings and only pay 1150 per month |

Cost per month is: $1260
Cost per year is: $15120
Cost per Sq Ft Per Year is: $75.60
Cost per Sq Ft Per Month is: $6.30 |

1260.00 per month. divide by 200 sq feet equal 6.30 per month.
per sq feet x by 12 equal 75.60 per sq feet. per annual x by 200 sq feet will equal your rent of 15,120. per annual |

$1260 per month.
12 months = $15,120
Since 200 sq feet, divide by 200.
Thus psf cost per year is $75.6 |

Divide the monthly rent by the number of square feet for the monthly cost per square foot, and then multiply the result by 12 for the annualized cost per square foot. |

Wow, you didn't do well in math did you. Holy cow. Take your total cost for a year, which is 1260 times 12(I hope you can figure that one out), then divide by your area( that the square feet). That gives you cost per square foot per year. Use your units. |

1260 divided by 200 equals $6.30 square foot.
1260 x 12 months equals $15,120. |

1260/200=6.38*12=$75.6/year |

The word "per" implies division. So if you want dollars per square foot then you take the dollar amount and divide by the number of square feet.
$1260/(200 sq ft) = $6.3/sq ft = $6.3 per square foot
This amount is per month. If you want the annual cost, you would multiply by 12.
$6.3/sq ft *12 = $75.6 per square foot |

So what you are saying is that you are paying 1260 for 200 sq feet if space? Is that right?
If I followed your question correctly then you are paying $6.30 per sq foot |
|

texandiva2006

Okay, I actually busted out the calculator on this one ...
1260 (rent) / 200 (ft^2) = $6.30 per square foot per month
6.30 (amount you pay for one square foot per month) x 12 (months in lease) = $75.60 per square foot per year.
sounds like you have an efficiency ... though i think you should look for a better deal elsewhere. 200 square feet is very small, and $1260 per month in rent is very high!
for example, i have a 650 sq ft one bed apartment and i pay only $500 a month. |

Hurts my brain just reading the question! :) |

Rent per square foot is calculated by taking the annual rent and dividing by the number of square feet. In your case, that would mean multiplying the monthly rent of 1260 by the 12 months in a year, which equals 15,120, and then dividing that by 200 - the number of square feet - which gives you $75.60 per square foot. |
