Easy, ask it! Of course if it's a woman though you may get a false age.

Look up your local title company and do a title search. This should have been done when you bought the house. If you saved all of the paperwork in a file you might be able to find it in that paperwork. There will be a fee from the title company to do this search again. The condition report will also usually have an approximate age on it, but if the house is older and the seller is trying to get more than it is worth, they may just put down that they do not know the age. There are ways to age the house by its construction, but that is rough guess within a few years.

It might be difficult if you're renting, but the owner should have (or have seen) the deeds which will provide this info. If you're on good terms with him/her, ask about the history of the building.

You can research houses on genealogical websites, though much of the info is available at a cost (Ancestry.com). The 1880/1 censuses are online at familyhistory.org for free.

However, you need to be aware that house numbers were sometimes changed, and a current house may have the same number as an older one before it.

Look at the deeds. Interesting question. I always thought a house should have a 'log book'. Make interesting reading!

THE WANDERING Mandalorian WIZARD
Deeds, and try your city hall for records.

leambi
You should have a copy of the deeds, if not then contact the land registry and they should be able to tell you, if it is a reasonably new build, in the last 7 years of so you can usually find this information out for free on the internet.

mr. y
go to the town hall and look in the public records.your deed also should say it too.

Roman
see if it burns well, that might indicate it is really old

clare w

Check the county court house records when the house was built.

sexy-star
Go to the council where the house was registered, ask for the records and it should tell you how old the house is.
