As long as you have an address and have a job and haven't been in debt it shouldn't matter. I never buy on credit and got my mortgage no problem so find it strange you have had a problem. See a finaincial advisor for advice possibly? |

I was in the same situation. My loan officer used my bills to establish my credit for my loan. I had to get statements from my car insurance, phone company, light company etc. Whatever I was unable to get, she could get for me as long as she had a signed authorization from me. |

There are many programs designed to help first time home buyers. As long as you don't have really bad credit and have a decent income you can probably get a loan. It's especially helpful if you have at least $5000-$10,000 for a down payment.
I would recommend checking to see if your city or county has any special programs designed to help first time buyers. |

I don't know that to be a problem in the UK. As long as you haven't had adverse credit you should be fine. Have you actually had problems, or have you not tried yet and are just assuming you'll have problems? Go to a bank/building society/ mortgage broker and ask if you can get a mortgage. I'll be very surprised if they say no! |

If you have never had credit at all, then lenders are unable to determine your ability or even willingness to repay any given debt. However, FHA loans do not have a min credit score requirement. You would however have to provide non-traditional credit references such as rental, insurance, utility, or even a rent-to-own agreement. Generally a 12 month history from these creditors showing you have them on time can be acceptable providing that all other aspects of the mortgage loan are in order (IE; debt to income ratios and job histories). Remember you will need to be able to verify your residence, job history and income for the last 2 years. Also, typically you will be required to have 3% of your purchase price as a down payment/investment. This can be a gift from a family member or a state/community backed program thru your local housing authority, but cannot come from the seller. |
