You could take her to small claims but you would have to prove that it was a loan and not just a gift. If you have anything in writing that is to yuor advantage otherwise it is your word against hers and the judge will decide who is telling the truth.

You won't get it until you take her to small claims court which probably won't be worth it if she doesn't have any money. Write up a demand for payment and get the court to stamp it saying that you sent her a copy of the letter. Give her a payment plan option. If she doesn't pay, you could take her to court or just cut your losses. Have your wife speak with her!!!

Sounds like you need to go to court. I twould help if you had a witness or some proof that she owes you.

If you did not sign a written document with your sister-in-law when she borrowed the $700 from you, there is nothing you can do. The only thing you can do is be nice and keep reminding her that she owes you money. Ask her if she can pay you in installments without interest.
