You need to do this tactfully, and seeking their help is the best way.
There's a few routes you could go down, i would start by casually asking about the door, make it a point of conversation such as saying "it's a shame about your door, do you need a new one or is it ok?"
Why not ring a local glasier, get a rough price and then tell them your friend had the glass replaced by XYZ and it only cost £whatever.
Just see what reaction you get, if they have no intention of doing anything then you need to turn up the heat.
Do you know anyone connected to a glaziers who you could recommend to them or even suggest you'll get them to pop around and give them an estimate.
I'm probably a little more daring than you and would be suggesting that there's been break-ins locally over the last week and something such as a broken door will be a magnet as they don't have to smash anything to get in.
Get a few leaflets from local companies and bang one through the letter box every few days.
Seriously, these people will not be your neighbours for much longer, they are now costing you money, you owe them no favours, do whatever you have to get this done.
You might end up going out of your way or even be out of pocket to an extent but think about the bigger picture, and you don't really want to be living next door to people like this anyway. |

do you talk with this neighbour?.if so,why not offer to help him fix it,or suggest someone to him, to come and do the repair,another thing to think about,have you prepared your house and gardens for viewing,remember what looks good to you,wont look good to the prospective buyer.dont rely on an agent to advise you,as they just want their cut out of the sale |

.with great difficulty I sympathise with you, just do the best you can to make your house attractive, then be prepared to let it go at a reduced rate, better to off load a burden and lose a little money than worry yourself sick with arrogant untidy neighbours |

That's a tough one. I would probably offer to give them the
money to replace the glass if I could afford it. It might be a
bit touchy,though,dealing with neighbors can be like that. |

You need to put something in your yard to make people look directly at your house before seeing the neighbors. Also, if you are in an HOA, call them and have them take care of it. If you have an Agent selling it for you, ask them for help. |

The housing market right now is in severe problems, you must ask yourself several questions the first being is it really the appearance of the house next door? Is it the neighborhood, the price, things about your own home that may be putting off perspective viewers. Have you agent arrange an open house that will bring in the viewers. If you continue in this manner, get a different agent. We had our house on the market 7 months and only had a few lookers. I had people come in and re landscape, wash the outside of the house and do all the windows inside and out, and did all kinds of things to make it look great. We even had an open house, but our agent wasn't very good and didn't follow up. We put our house in the hands of a different agent and it sold within two weeks. |

Can you talk with this neighbor? If so, ask if he has plans to repair it and explain what you just wrote here and how you think it will affect your sale. If he wont then offer to pay to repair it yourself. I mean only if you are certain that this is the real reason people arent viewing. good luck |

Did you try talking to your neighbors? You can nicely ask them when they are planning to get a new door. If they have any kind of decency, they should feel embarrassed about your situation. If they don't, and there isn't an association where you can call and complain, then get all the people in the area that want to move to pummel him. JK :) |
