You don't. Consider what it will cost you when the landlord finds out you've broken the terms of your rental / lease agreement. While I understand your concern for your cat, you should have considered a pet-friendly apartment. I don't think your landlord is being unreasonable. He will have to clean up behind you and your cat when you move out. Many people, myself included are very sensitive to animal dander.
No matter how you feel, you have an agreement with your landlord. You should have considered this before you rented the apartment and considered other options. Imagine if the rules said that there could only be two people renting a unti, and the renter moves in four. It's not fair to the other tenants to make such an exception, I'm sure you wouldn't approve either. |

Find out what would happen if they catch you. I am sure they will, landlords always come into your apartment for something even when you are not at home. Plus, cat smell is so obvious or cat meowing at your door, and cats like to sit in windowsills. |

You would be in violation of the lease agreement if there are provisions that allow pets upon payment of extra charges which you ignore, and hence subject to an eviction notice. Pets sometimes require the landlord to make extra repairs or replacements in rentals caused by odor, stains, ripped carpet, etc. so they recoup their costs by charging the extra fees and deposit. If you cannot afford to abide by the terms of the pet friendly lease agreement, consider finding another rental where pets are allowed but without extra monthly fees or costs. Generally, most most pet friendly rentals will require a "damage deposit", refundable depending on any damage and the landlord. |

Just make sure your cat is quiet and never goes near the window or infront of the shade or curtain. Also, make sure to take your cat out of the apartment whenever the landlord is scheduled to come over for any kind of repair. Also, make sure your landlord is not around when you first bring the cat into the apartment. |

Very carefully. Depending on if your landlord is monitoring the apartments it might be difficult. Cats like windows, this could be a problem. If you think you can get away with it, try to block the window with paper or cloth that the cat can't get behind. you can also buy a spray paint substance that you can put REMOVABLE design on bottom half of window so if cat gets in it, no one can see him. Make sure cat has food all the time to keep him from crying and meowing. Don't let cat get out. Make sure to make arrangements for cat when exterminator comes or there is some other type of inspection. Good luck |

I love animals, but it was irresponsible of you to get a pet and not be willing to pay what is requested.
You signed a contract and agreed to abide by the terms of that contract. If you disagreed with any part of that contract (the pet deposit amounts, etc) you should have refused to sign it and started negotiating. You are allowed to say "no", and if they refuse to negotiate, you are perfectly free to look elsewhere for a place to live.
You put your pet in a bad spot also. Unless you can afford to move, your animal will end up being euthanized in a shelter once you get caught and have a choice of paying up or getting rid of your cat.
It can take some work to find them, but there are lots of landlords who allow pets and won't charge a good tenant an arm and a leg for it. |

Ask for a payment plan from your landlord. This is better than if you were to get evicted and out on the street with your cat. Don't do it. If your lease has no pets on it, the landlord has a right to get rid of the pet at any given time. |
