There is nothing wrong with following up on a request like this, especially since they'd expected to have an answer to you by now. A good lender may spend a little extra time to try to find a loan for you, which may be all that has happened - but you are certainly entitled to an update on the progress. |

They are probably shopping the loan around to see if they can find a taker. If your credit is bad it could take a couple of weeks. |

Call, it it bugs them to bad. It is an opportunity for them to make money, your the customer, camp in their office for an answer if you want.
It may take longer to match creditors that will assume the risk of a bad credit loan. Do you have your own bank? Apply there, i wont hurt to apply for loans in multiple places shopping for the best rate. Then you have options. Waiting is sometimes a stradegy to get higher rates and fee's from you. If they think your desparate and can get away with it. So fill out other applications, start with your own banks first.
You just may get a better rate and keep from getting screwed if you be smart about it. |

Wait one more day or what? Call your loan officer and see where they are in the process. On a modular home you can get a regular mortgage. If you are purchasing a manufactured home, that is different. Why not just go to a mortgage lender that is reputable and will answer your questions if this one does not?
