What's your problem? If you've been evicted what makes you so special that you shouldn't have to leave someone else's property when a court tells you to? It's unconscionable that some people would wait until the sheriff physically comes to remove them to leave someone else's property that they are unlawfully holding over. Grow up and become a responsible human being. |

If it comes to the need for the sheriff to come and serve you with a judge signed eviction order it means now unless the judge says otherwise on the order. All time has run out. manana does not mean tomorrow in these cases. Usually the sheriff can use common sense and give you 24 hours. If you're still there when they come back they have a choice to physically remove you from the premises and lock the place up with all your personal belongings in it or arrest you for trespass and contempt of court. Not a pleasant experience

In Ohio it's 30 days. You need to contact your police department to find out for sure. |

The best thing to do is to find out what your time frame is. What yuo are being evicted for as well some times plays a role in theabomount of time. If you are being evicted for non pay you should try to seek emergency assistance as far as trying to cover your bills. If you are being evicted because you have mistreated the property then I think it states on the form and it is hard to fight those types of eviction. However as far as monies needed to keep your apartment, you may want to seek local churches in your area and see if they can offer any assistance; if not maybe they can refer you to a goverment office that will help you out. My boyfriend has this scumbag women friend that has asked the churches for help and they give her the money and it is pretty easy from what I hear. But she obviously doesn't use the money to do that...she uses it for other things.
Hope that this isn't a situation that was caused by being mean. I hope that things work out for you if it is a finacial thing.
Good luck friend! |

It should say on your final notice. I would imagine your landlord would appreciate it if you left as soon as possible I am sure he gave you a final notice. Stop being a mooching drain on society pay your rent like the rest of the world! Do you have any idea how much it costs your landlord to file an eviction? Get a life if you were my tenant I would send the leg breakers after you. |

Have you gone to court yet? Typically, it's 30 days, but if you haven't been to court, then you have time. Sometimes the judge will give you more or less time than that depending on your circumstances. |

In Illinois it varies. Once a sheriff serves a warning, it is usually 5 days. Your best best is to check with your local sheriff's office. I don't think this is something you want to get secondhand information on. |

The Sherrif shows up gives you papers from the court which will have a date that the new owners will be taking over possession of the property. If you are still at the home on that day expect the sherrif to show up and tell you to get out right then. I had to evict tenants so I could move into the home I had just purchased back in 1997 when the sherrif showed up on april 30th, 1997 he gave them 5 minutes to grab what they could and get out. I am going to suggest you pack your stuff and move. Once the property is turned over to the owners you cant return without authorization from the owner to get your belongings and if you leave anything behind they can charge you a reasonable fee for storage. That day I started packing all their stuff since they had no intentions of moving. me being mean and 21 I even swept up dirt off the floor and enclosed it in the boxes with their clothes. |

You had better get off the computer, read the eviction notice, and start packing! |

"eviction warning"
so you havn't been to court yet??
if you were at court.. (they are still warning you that court is resulting)
in the court , the judge usually gives you a date within 30 days..to be out..and lets you pick the date..after that date, locks can be changed etc.......
so I believe if you want to stay you can still phone your landlord and try to negotiate something..
get everything in writing........ |

check the court paper where the judge ruled if it is not written on the final notice you were just served...if you are not out in time the sheriff's office will physically remove you from the premises and throw all of your stuff on the lawn or even confiscate them....good luck |
