Hi, Not trying to be flip, but the more the better. The first step is to look at various areas, then focus in on a smaller area. When I bought my first house I drove by at least 50 homes, went to 15 open houses/showings. DO NOT count on a realtor to do your homework, they don't have the time. You need to make a check list with 20 or more items. Rate them 1 to 5, Roof Condition, paint/siding, driveway, heating and cooling system, appliances, number of bathrooms and conditions, doors and locks (are there keys for all the locks?) you would be surprised how many people move in and have one key for one door knob, appliances, windows that work, electical upgrades, cable and phone wiring, plumbing, etc. The older the home the more checking you have to do. I also broght my own tape measure and measured room sizes. As you narrow down your focus, it gets easier to compare properties. Also very important to remember, you may need to sell the house one day, so you need to purchase it at a resonable price. Also do NOT underestimate the cost and hassle related to repairs. The realtor and seller will say fixing X, Y and Z is not a big deal, OK then go ahead and do it and when those are done I will stop back to look at the property. Good luck. |

Start collecting informations about house? Types,rates, your expectations,finance,inspections, so many. Start asking questions from your family,friends, real estate brokers and agents.You can refer online,library books. After this research visit houses and then decide.Surely you will get what you want. |

You should only buy the one you really really want that has the items in it that you really want. If you buy something that is less that what you want to live with for years. I wanted a house with a fireplace and settled for something else and now I am totally not happy.
The housing market is so open for buyers right now, just make sure you get all the extras you want. |

dont look at just any home,look at what you need in a home.how many room's are enough,square footage of said home,and foundation,wireing,pipe's.can you see you'rself there in ten,twenty even thirty year's.from now, and know that price is to be negotiated.can you see being proud of it ?.you can look at 50 home's if you choose to,but in the end you will know what you want,it will almost jump at you.family or no family an don't forget ,,location.it could be a bad area waiting for good people to clean it up.I hope this help's you in you'r endeaver as it only took me 5 home's to see the end result..never ever go beyond you'r means to have a home.create a home for you'r means. |
