How much does your rent or mortgage cost you every month and what type of home do you live in.?
i live in an apartment in Phoenix and i pay $635.00 per month (one bedroom) i think that's pretty cheap for housing, I'm curious as to what other people shell out every month for there home, every city has different cost of living so list your city as well if you don't mind.

I pay $885 rent for an 1100 sf, 2 bedroom, 2 full bath in Columbus, OH (New Albany). It's suburban sprawl though, comparable downtown rentals are towards the $1200 mark.

You probably don't care about places other than the US but we own a rental unit (2 bedroom stand alone house) here in Hobart, Tasmania and we charge $700 a month and they have to pay utilities. Most places are higher and we anticipate putting the rent up to fair market when this tenant leaves. That will make the rent $840 per month.

Before I bought this house, I rented a 1 bedroom apartment in the Hoover area of Alabama and it was about $750 a month (not including utilities).

My husband and I live in a 1400 sq ft two story house with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The house is on a quarter acre lawn with 100 feet of private lake front and a private dock. So basically the house is like an old cottage, but our property is amazing.

We live in NY (about 1 hour upstate of NYC), and we pay $2800 a month for mortgage, taxes, and insurance.

I live in the Oklahoma City area, OK, am in the process of buying a 3/1 house with central heat/air, 894 sq ft for $55 and my monthly payments are expected to be about $500 mth. Right now I live in a 31 y/o trailer on my dad's farm that I have buckets to catch the rain in the living room and pay $50 a mth with window a/c's and 2 local room heaters so the increase will be worth it. So if you can find something better in your price range that you can build equity into, go for it.

I live in Denver, Colorado. I have a 1690 sq ft home, 2 story, built 10 years ago. I pay $1,260 a month for my mortgage (including insurance and taxes) and I bought it three years ago for $199,900.

I also manage two loft-style historical buildings in the center of Downtown Denver. Our unfurnished one bedroom lofts start at $929 and up, and two bedroom lofts start at $1,289 and up. That price doesn't include parking, utilities, fitness center or any other amenities. We're 100% full in both buildings, and I have a waiting list.
