I have a 2300 sq craftmen style house built in 1997. It is on a 1/2 acre lot with many trees and a creek. It is 3 stories with maple hardwood floors and a lot of arcitural flare. We are in a great neighborhood and good schools.

It was hard to find but it's my house. I purchased it last year.
The neighborhood is nice too. There are many elderly who live here. Oh, and the previous owners lost the house after remodelling so I got it for 109. It's terrible to say but that's a great way to get a deal. |

In Fort Myers, Florida you can buy virtually nothing except for a rundown condo in a bad neighborhood. I have a 2,000 sq ft 4/2 on a 50 X 125 lot in a gated community built in 2004 and I paid $375,000. |

WOW in the City of Holland Michigan that would go for about $250,000 - $300,000 OR MORE. Depending on how many bedrooms/bathrooms/basement, garage etc.
Houses here are very expensive. There is hardly ANYTHING less than $135,000. 2/3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath 1100 sq ft NO LAND either.
MOBILE HOMES here are expensive to live in. $75,000/80,000 PLUS lot rent. |

You did good then. $158K here in the Dallas Market will get you a new, cookie cutter house, no trees xcept the 2-3 small ones they put in your lawn. I had a house in Houston similar to what you describe here and it was $250K. Location, location, locaton. |

I live in Fallbrook in California. Unfortunately, $158,000 is only a good down payment on a house here. A house like you are describing would probably cost closer to $600,000 to $700,000 or more. |

In San Antonio Texas you could buy 15 houses in various condition, but the condition would not matter much.
Wow what a loaded question.
If you came to San Antonio texas you could go to the "Tax lein sale" and buy 15 houses that were repo-ed by the county for less that 10K each , that were all worth about 40 each and turn around and sell them(Cheap) for 30 each and net 300K in 6 months. Its free and easy. Nothing at all to buy.
Its easy . I learned to do it myself, by going to the auctions,it took me 5 years to figure it all out by myself. |
