How much is 20% down payment for a house that cost $160,000?
how much is 20% down payment for a house that cost $160,000??

HelpMeEscrowStuff
actually, everyone answering "20% is 32K" is a bit wrong wrong - in terms of buying a house... I believe everyone has neglected "closing costs" which are roughly 3% of the purchase price - can be more or less. For 160K house, you pay 20% down which IS 32K plus 3% which is $4800 so your total purchase cost to get that house is $36,800 (roughly). This is for a traditional purchase with a mortgage and 20% down.

Have a nice day.

I am sorry but I do not mean to be disrespectful but this is basic 3rd grade math here, not rocket science. Please do not tell me you have a high school diploma. as my beliefs in the school systems of America will be shattered.

20% down payment for a house that costs $160,000 dollars is $32,000. When buying a house though, definitely make sure you factor all of the other expenses involved which will put the grand total you have to come up with at closing much higher such as:

- Bank Mortgage / Recording Fees
- Up Front Mortgage Points
- Town / State Fees such as Deed Transfer Fees
- Title Insurance
- Seller Re-imbursement of previously paid Taxes and Utilities
- Lawyer Fees

Several of these are often based on the value of the house and can easily add another $5,000 - $20,000 dollars or more to what you have to pay at closing in addition to your down payment
