Some cities have rent control, like New York and San Francisco. Elsewhere, the landlord can charge what the market will bear. If he raises it too high, he risks losing you as a tenant. So, if you are a good tenant and always pay on time and don't do any damage or cause any grief, the landlord will want to keep you. |
