I recommend that you hire a professional mold inspector.
You will find them listed in the Yellow pages under a site that says, Mold, technicians and consultants and remediation.
Have an inspector make an inspection of the property.
Get an estimate of what it would cost to have a prefessional remediate the mold in the property.
If you decide to buy the house this will be important information for you to know.
It will also help you in your negotiations with the owner of the property.
Whenever I am cosidering the purchse of a property I always hire a mold inspector to check for mold and give me a written report of all of the types of mold found on the property, where they are found and which if any of the molds are dangerous.
I always give a copy of the report to the seller of the property.
Also, if you want an immediate way to clean iup mold. I have found that 100% swimming pool chlorine in a spray bottle sprayed directly on the mold is often very effective.
Swimming pool chlorine is a much stronger solution of the chemical that is used in household bleach.
Make certain that you are wearing rubber gloves and you do not get any of the spray in your eyes. I use an underwater swimming pool mask to protect my eyes if I am spraying a solution that strong.
I wash the mask and my hands with lots of water before I take the mask off.
I take a shower immediately afterward to wash off any more of the spray that got on my skin.
Swimming pool chlorine is extremely caustic and will burn you if your get it on you. It will blind you if you get it in your eyes.
Wear old clothes. The spray will get on your clothes and it completely destroys them.
But the spray will clean up the mold on the surface. Unfortunately the mold is often back in the walls as well and will come back.
For a permanent solution you need a professional remediator.
But in the short term there is nothing like swimming pool chlorine to get rid of mold on the surface. |

if you can even see a small amount, it is too much. it means a fungus or bacteria is growing, you are breathing that in. spray it with a diluted bleach and call a pro to get an opnion, it could be a leak! |

I would not buy any house that has mold grow after it has been cleaned off. Clean it with bleach and see if it comes back.
I am highly allergic to mold and mildew, and if you have kids, they can be severely affected by this.
EDIT: Since you've already tried cleaning it, and it keeps coming back, you might look into the cause: Is this on an outside wall that gets wet from garden sprinklers? The whole wall could be saturated where you cannot see it. I had a bathroom wall where the brick on the outside was wet, but the inside was not, yet mold grew inside. There can be major structural problems with a wet wall. |

That's dangerous.
Black mold KILLS. It grows in damp areas and spreads quickly.
Cover the furniture in your house and spray your ENTIRE house with bleach. EVERYWHERE. If you miss one little spore, it will grow back! Spray spray spray! |

What you have described is too much, but it can be fixed with a little bleach/water solution. Spray directly on the mold and your problem will be solved! |

No, just put 50 water 50 bleach in a spray bottle and kill it. But if you discover mold deep inside the walls and it is very dark black then your family's health is at risk. This is what happened in the bathroom in my house. I had to get one of those fog machines and put mold killing chemicals in the tank. Then turn it on and let the bathroom walls get sprayed with fog. |

Any mold is bad mold.
I worked in property management & if one of our rentals had that much we would have put the tenants in a different home....& brought in professionals to completely kill & eradicate any mold.
If you inhale ANY spores - you could get very sick. |

Yes. At the very least it can cause allergies & asthma, at worst, it can cause more serious illnesses such as emphysema & even cancer. You need to kill the mold which may rquire removing sheetrock & carpeting as well as all insulation. Best to call in an expert, get an estimate & get the owner to fix it before negociating a price. |
