Don't pay to demolish it. Call your local fire department, and see if you can let them burn it down.
Fire Departments are ALWAYS looking for homes to practice on with their new recruits.
You have to clear everything out afterwards, but you get a nice tax break by donating your home for this. And you help out the fire department.
It's possible yours is too close to neighbors or something to be able to do this, but it's worth a shot. |

depends on the size of the house, the condition, and whether or not the house contains any hazmat, such as asbestos. Also determining the value is the method you choose for demolishing it. If you remove any hazmat, then get a bulldozer and a few dumsters, it'll be chaeper than hiring someone to do it for you, but you are then responsible for following any applicable laws and statutes. I'd seriously recommend seeking some proffesional consultation before just diving in. If you decide to hire a contractor to do it for you, ask them if there are any steps you can take (such as removing roofing, etc...) to reduce his bill to you. Good luck! |
