How much notice is standard when kicking out a room mate?
You need to check the rent control board if any in your location. You have to give them ample time to get a place to stay and it is longer in the winter months.

Depends on where you live and the reason for the eviction.

It's not what is "standard", it is whatever the law in your area says you need to give.
Find out what the law is in your area, and follow it.
A wrongful eviction can cost you big time.

This will depend on the conditions that were agreed on when your roomate moved in with you. Is there a signed lease agreement? Generally in Canada one must give 60 days notice before evicting someone. The same holds true for a person who is moving out of a tenanted home.

It depends on how often they are suppossed to pay rent. If weekly, give them a week . If monthly, give them a month.
browneyedchika
i would say abt 6-8mnths

Common courtesty would dictate that you give at least 30 days written notice to vacate the premises. Of course, this assumes that your roommate's name is not on the lease. Because if it is, you can't evict him.

With a pistol in one hand just say look I can't take it no more should be about 2 minutes.

Make sure you don't do the whole wrongful eviction thing. You can get yourself in a heap of trouble over that one. But I don't really think there is any standard of notice when kicking out a room mate because that's a different situation than a job or a landlord since you are actually living with the person. I think it depends on how bad the situation is.

if its your property - 1 week notice should suffice
ive known friends who have kicked out their room mate and given 3 days notice for them to ship out
