Christ, the question is "how much" not "should I". It would be nice if half the people on Yahoo Answer would get off of the high horse they seem to be riding. People ask a question to get an answer, not to be preached at.

Considering you are buying all the materials...
Labor: $30-$45 per Square Foot.
Materials: $100- $150/ Sq Ft.
Take the highest values, add them together: $150+45=$195.00. per Square Foot.
******If you get caught, you will be fined severely. It's illegal, it's not a good idea. You get what you pay for.*******
Now, multiply your total Square Footage x $195.
Example: 1850sq. ft. home x $195 per sq. ft. = $360,750.00 |

There's a world of variables, but being construction for 24yrs, my guess would be between a 13 to a 12 in labor. Now if you have to go back an fix screw ups, it would be less of course.
And for all the people against using illegals, when you sit down tonight at dinner and eat your spinage, carrots, and lettuce, just remember it didn't pick it's self and it wasn't picked by anyone born in this country. |

The cost would be very expesive. Reason number one. Using illegal immigrants would cost you $10,000 each illegal immigrant for the penlties involved of hiring the illegal immigrants.
Number 2 by hiring illegal immigrants you then have no recourse if anything was not built to code.
Number 3 the cost would escalate when you find things where built wrong and had to redo what was already done wrong.
Always remember you get what you pay for.
But if everything was built to code and you where not caught for hiring illegal immigrants i would imagine you could save a great deal of labor costs.
But would it be reall y worth the savings? |

frankly, i don't believe anyone should hire illegal immigrants.
though, a lot have fake papers and if you "look the other way" and assume they are real papers you can hire them - that's what my dad's friend did and my great uncle. |

Check the pricing in Southern CA. I am not trying to be funny. I had a friend who used to framing and roofing, the contractor started calling him less and less and picking his labor force at the parking lot of home depot more and more. More of you have probably had illegal aliens work on your homes than you realize.
