Depends where of course but average, i would say about double or treble. Bear in mind you might get a big house in america but youd have to put up with living in the country, its not like the movies.

Zoe F
about twice that much!

Wow what gorgeous houses, can I come with you??

dreambelle
depending on the location between £650,000 and a mil, where i am is on the a1 and an hour away from london so round here would be the mil mark as its a commuters route! places live wales, or the east coast would be a lot less!! We found a 5 bed house in cleethorpes for £125,000 here it would have been double that easily!!

Butternut27
they would be twice the cost in the UK....

don't know why people compare the USA has loads of land to build new houses for many decades to come..the UK does not..

The planning laws in the UK are v v strict....not so bad in the US...these factors influence prices in both...

the developers here in the UK are overcharging and making a killing it does not cost that much to build a property...they are racking it in....building a house may cost them 150K they pass it on the the customer for 450K....rip off Britian

Emigrating is a great way to get a nice house that we can't afford in the UK or better still a place in the sun to escape to every year for a few months...

We went to see this house yesterday as the showhome opened - I just need €810 - that is how much the showhouse, the garden sold me!

edit - sorry that is €810'000 - not €810, cos if that was the case I would buy all 8 that they are building!

Loren S
Given the size and location, upwards of one million pounds.
