My property taxes are due to the country twice a year. However I include money in my monthly mortgage payment for an escrow account. Then the bank pays the taxes from that escrow account. That's pretty much the standard way of doing it for anyone with a mortgage.
The banks require you to do it this way because they want to make sure the taxes are paid. If the taxes didn't get paid the county could take the house and the bank would be left with no collateral for the loan. |

In my town we pay the school taxes in October and the town taxes in February - so, I pay twice a year. The people who live in the village also have to pay a separate village tax - so they pay 3 times a year. The people who have mortgages with escrow make a monthly payment toward these tax bills...so they pay 12 times a year. |
